Megan Haley-Maen, MA, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist # 139933
Every individual has the capacity to create positive changes in his or her (or their) life when given the appropriate clinical tools and guidance. I have dedicated my practice to manifesting my clients’ goals for change and self-improvement by supporting them in making meaningful shifts in their personal narratives and core beliefs. The results have only deepened my passion for guiding others towards the path to self-acceptance through helping them connect with their inner world and to the present moment.
I specialize in anxiety disorders, addiction, complex trauma, relationship difficulties, and family systems work. I approach each client regardless of their diagnosis as an individual first and adapt treatment interventions accordingly. I provide a safe therapeutic space of empathetic connection and compassion where clients can explore their internal world and cultivate self-awareness. Reconstructing the relationship with the self is a powerful and transformational tool that fundamentally changes the template for interpersonal behavior.
I have a special interest in working with adolescents and their caregivers as they navigate the complex physical, emotional, and behavioral changes that occur during the critical period of adolescence. I have worked extensively with adolescents in a variety of settings and have the unique ability to connect with teens to make them feel, seen, understood, and spoken to in their own language. I currently hold advisory board positions at the Inspiring Children’s and Jewel Never Broken Foundations. I am also an executive producer and mental health advisor for iHeartMedia and Jewel’s Not Alone Campaign.
In partnership with Point Health/ Point Ketamine, I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) when appropriate and clinically indicated. I trained with the Integrative Psychiatry institute (IPI) to obtain my credentials as a psychedelic-assisted psychotherapist.
I approach my work from a psychodynamic and attachment-based framework, incorporating cognitive and behavioral interventions to promote emotional balance and support growth. I have been trained as a crisis responder and am adept at managing crisis situations with clinically validated de-escalation strategies. CBT and DBT techniques are incorporated into my methodology to improve affect tolerance in clients as well as to increase self-efficacy. My goal is to help clients break free of the behaviors and beliefs that are no longer serving them, and guide them on the difficult but rewarding journey to selfhood. I strive to give each client the clinical tools necessary to create his or her own authentic narrative as well as the opportunity to embrace life and thrive instead of just exist.
